With over 20 years of experience in the game, Nicola Melville is a PGA Fellow Professional and full-time performance coach dedicated to helping golfers of all levels play with more confidence. Her professional journey began in 2005 as an Assistant Professional at Blairgowrie Golf Club, followed by a move to the prestigious Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews, where she completed the PGA Foundation Degree and qualified as a PGA Professional.
Driven by a commitment to continual development, Nicola has invested heavily in her education. She holds the Advanced Certificate in Golf Coaching from the University of Birmingham, the PGA Director of Golf Diploma, and has completed a wide range of specialist CPD including TrackMan Level 2, PGA Advanced Rules of Golf, and multiple coaching, leadership, and performance-focused modules. These qualifications underpin her modern, evidence-based approach to coaching—balancing technical skill, data, and real-world playing experience.
Nicola’s expertise extends well beyond coaching. In 2012, she joined the PGA Rules Panel after completing the PGA Advanced Rules of Golf CPD course, and in 2015 she furthered her officiating credentials at the R&A Tournament Administrators and Referees School. She co-founded the Ladies Tartan Tour, serving as freelance Tournament Director from 2013 to 2015, before joining the PGA Tournament staff as a Tournament Director until 2022. In recognition of her professional achievements, she was awarded PGA Advanced Professional status in 2018 and subsquently awarded PGA Fellow Professional status in 2025.
After senior roles as Head Professional at Murrayshall Country Estate and later as Head of Golf at Westerwood, Nicola found herself drawn back to what she loves most—helping players improve. In 2025, this renewed focus on coaching inspired her to establish Nicola Melville Golf, her coaching-led business focusing on all areas of player development.
Today, Nicola offers structured performance golf coaching, tailored programmes, golf swing coaching, and golf tuition supported by data, technology, and a player-centred approach. She works with complete beginners, intermediate golfers, junior players, and competitive amateurs, with a particular passion for women’s golf coaching and developing confidence on and off the course.
