Nicola's Bio


With a passion for golf spanning over two decades, Nicola is a PGA Advanced Professional currently serving as the Golf Professional at Westerwood Hotel, Spa, and Golf Resort. She began her professional journey in 2005 as an Assistant Professional at Blairgowrie Golf Club, later moving to the renowned Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort, and Spa in St Andrews, where she completed the PGA Foundation Degree and became a fully qualified PGA Professional.

Throughout her career, Nicola has continually sought to enhance her knowledge and skills in the golf industry. She earned the Advanced Certificate in Golf Coaching from the University of Birmingham. Her commitment to the sport extended beyond coaching, leading her to join the PGA Rules Panel in 2012 after completing the PGA Advanced Rules of Golf CPD course. She further honed her expertise by attending the R&A Tournament Administrators and Referees School in 2015.

Nicola's career highlights include co-founding the Ladies Tartan Tour, where she served as a freelance Tournament Director from 2013 to 2015. She then joined the PGA tournament staff, working as a Tournament Director until 2022. Recognized for her dedication and achievements, she was awarded Advanced Professional status in 2018.

In 2022, Nicola took on the role of Head Professional at Murrayshall Country Estate, allowing her to explore new facets of the golf industry before taking up her current position at Westerwood. Her diverse experience, from coaching and refereeing to tournament direction, reflects her dedication to the game and her continuous pursuit of excellence.
