About Nicola

With over 20 years’ experience working in golf, Nicola Melville is a PGA Fellow Professional and full-time performance coach working with golfers of all abilities to improve their game and build confidence. She began her career in 2005 as an Assistant Professional at Blairgowrie Golf Club before moving to the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews, where she completed the PGA Foundation Degree and qualified as a PGA Professional.

Nicola has a strong commitment to ongoing professional development. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Golf Coaching from the University of Birmingham and the PGA Director of Golf Diploma, alongside a wide range of specialist CPD including TrackMan Level 2, TPI Level 1, PGA Advanced Rules of Golf, and multiple coaching, leadership, and performance-focused courses. Her coaching approach is modern and evidence-based, combining technical understanding, data, and practical playing experience.

Alongside coaching, Nicola has extensive experience in golf administration and officiating. She joined the PGA Rules Panel in 2012 and attended the R&A Tournament Administrators and Referees School in 2015. She co-founded the Ladies Tartan Tour and worked as a freelance Tournament Director from 2013 to 2015, before joining the PGA Tournament staff as a Tournament Director until 2022. She was awarded PGA Advanced Professional status in 2018 and PGA Fellow Professional status in 2025.

Nicola has held senior roles including Head Professional at Murrayshall Country Estate and Head of Golf at Westerwood. In 2025, she returned to a coaching-led role and established Nicola Melville Golf, a business focused on long-term player development.

Today, Nicola delivers structured performance coaching, tailored programmes, and individual golf tuition supported by data and technology. She works with beginners through to competitive amateurs and juniors, with a particular focus on women’s golf and helping players develop confidence both on and off the course.
